Bernard was founded shortly after World War II in a small storefront space on Chicago’s southeast side. Our early growth and success can be traced to our pioneering efforts in the welding industry.
For many years, stick welding was the only option for the welding industry. After years of research and development, Bernard perfected the Dual Shield welding process in 1954, now known as FluxCore Arc Welding (FCAW).
In the mid 1960s, while MIG welding was in its infancy, a new Bernard brand MIG welding gun and wire feeder was introduced. This was the forerunner of the current product line.
In 2001 the company was purchased by Illinois Tool Works. Bernard now enjoys the strength and growth opportunities that come from being part of a large, financially sound company without losing the personal warmth that is frequently found in a small organization.

Bernard offers Mig Guns in different amperages suiting the wire size that is to be welded. These Mig guns are designed on 100% duty cycle and because of which the life of the Torch is much higher compare to the competition and designed to be used in rough conditions. Unlike the traditional contact tip these contact tips are not screw type, instead it is a push – pull type, which allows the welder to rotate the tip and use the tip for higher time, thereby giving higher life.
Bernard also comes with different connection allowing the end-user to choose the gun based on the machine connection – Miller / Euro / Lincoln

Bernard BTB Mig Guns

Water Cooled Mig guns are specifically used to give comfort to the welder. Water acts as a coolant and takes away the heat from the torch giving comfort to the welder in holding the torch and working for longer hours. Bernard offers Water cooled Mig guns to suit the application need
Self Shielded Mig Guns
Usage of Self-shielded wires are catching up, more and more customers are moving towards the self-shielded wire due to the advantage that it has over the other normal flux cored wire. Bernard offers complete range of self-shielded wire guns to meet the customers expectations. Can be fitted with any brand of wire feeder based on the wire feeder connection, these torches are good to go and perform better than any other torches in the market.
